ARCADIA, Calif. – Trainer Jeff Mullins has been fined $1,500 and suspended 15 days as part of a stipulated agreement with the California Racing Board for a medication violation found in Inch, the winner of the sixth race at Del Mar on Aug. 25. Inch tested positive for the bronchodilator clenbuterol, which is not allowed to appear in post-race tests. Inch won a starter allowance at five furlongs on turf by three-quarters of a length. The original penalty called for a 30-day suspension beginning Monday and running through Feb. 7, but the final 15 days of the penalty, beginning Jan. 24, have been stayed provided Mullins does not have any violations for medications in classes 1, 2 or 3 until Jan. 8, 2024. Clenbuterol is listed as a class 3 medication. During the suspension, Mullins’s son Jeff Jr. will be the official trainer. Jeff Mullins Jr. has a runner at Golden Gate Fields on Friday. :: Get ready for Santa Anita racing with DRF Past Performances, Picks, and Clocker Reports.  Prat, Bravo suspended Jockeys Joe Bravo and Flavien Prat have each been fined $250 and suspended one day, Jan. 15, for whip violations in stakes at Santa Anita on Saturday.
