ARCADIA, Calif. – All of a sudden, trainer Peter Eurton is loaded with filly-mare turf stakes winners. Paradise Lake and Medoro won stakes this month at Santa Anita and Fair Grounds; Vibez aims for a second stakes victory on Saturday in the Grade 3 Megahertz at Santa Anita. “I’ve had three quality dirt [males] at one time, but never three fillies like this,” Eurton said. “It definitely is exciting.” All three mares are 5-years-old, and have been with Eurton since the start of their racing careers in late 2023 and early 2024. Paradise Lake has won four races and $228,000 from 11 starts including the Grade 3 Robert J. Frankel Stakes, a 1 1/8-mile race Jan. 8 at Santa Anita. “I’m probably going to go in the mile and a quarter with [Paradise Lake],” Eurton said, referring to the Grade 3 Santa Ana Stakes on March 15 at Santa Anita. “The timing’s good, it gives her a lot of time to be fresh.” Paradise Lake is owned by Lee and Susan Searing’s CRK Stables, which also owns Medoro, a five-time stakes winner who is the most accomplished of the Eurton trio. :: Santa Anita Classic Meet! Eurton has 20 horses stabled at Fair Grounds, where Medoro is penciled in for the $100,000 Albert Stall Memorial Stakes on Feb. 14. “I’m going to keep her [at Fair Grounds], and then maybe shoot for the Grade 1 on the 11th of April [at Keeneland],” Eurton said, in reference to the Jenny Wiley Stakes. Vibez seeks her first graded stakes victory Saturday in the Megahertz at Santa Anita. Her program price is an appealing 9-2. Vibez has won four races and $228,530 from 15 starts. She is owned by a partnership that includes Ciaglia Racing, Exline-Border Racing, Richard Hausman, and Garrett Zubok. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
