KEEP MOVIN’ ON
Trainer: Mark Glatt
Last race: June 19, 1st
Finish: 5th by 4 1/2
Beyer: 63
First start in a year, $20k claiming gelding ran with no-claim waiver, lacked speed, raced evenly in dirt mile dominated by speed. Respectable comeback, can drop for the money run at Del Mar.
HELEN’S TIME
Trainer: James Glenn, Jr.
Last race: June 19, 5th
Finish: 3rd by 3 3/4
Beyer: 66
Debut 3-year-old filly off slow, two wide midpack, evenly late, galloped out in front of odds-on winner. Decent debut by Helen’s Time, a Not This Time filly who can improve second time out.
HANDO’S RULE
Trainer: Rafael DeLeon
Last race: June 20, 1st
Finish: 1st by 1
Beyer: 56
Debut 2-year-old hit gate, bumped, away last in Cal-bred maiden-claiming sprint, picked up steam rallying inside, won going away. Midnight Storm gelding ran better than figure suggests.
SMOKEM EZ
Trainer: Martin Valenzuela, Jr.
Last race: June 20, 4th
Finish: 1st by 9
Beyer: 78
Sharp gelding pressed three-wide in $20K claiming N3L sprint, put away pace rivals, powered home. Smokem EZ can wheel back at Los Al or wait for Del Mar. Follow at either racetrack.
