Yonkers: Saturday 7/25 Analysis

MEET STATS: 207 - 661 / $1162.50  BEST BETS: 28 - 52 / $97.30

Best Bet: SOMEWHERE IN L A  (10th)

Spot Play: STEVENSVILLE (7th)

Race 1

(2) DALLENBACH HANOVER lands back inside, has plenty of speed and he's capable of taking these a long way if he's in the mood. Unfortunately, that's a big 'if'...watch the board. (4) DELCO ROCKNROLL came up the rail and just missed last week. Perhaps with a little more kick he could have gotten there; Robertson trainee fits well with these. (3) UNCLE GOODFELLOW drops in class off two tiring efforts; tough to gauge.

Race 2

(1) PERFECT RENDITION was overmatched versus Open types but his start prior he had plenty of late trot; veteran should be set up perfectly from this spot. (4) MIDNITE CRAZE makes just his fourth start of the year and he looks to be rounding into form. (7) SILVER CREDIT gets the much more aggressive Buter in the bike tonight; consider at a price.

Race 3

(5) REGULUS N hails from the Peter Tritton barn, which has been sneaky-sharp recently. Import gets top billing on the drop in class. (6) PANCHESTER UNITED hasn't gone a bad effort in some time, but also hasn't won in some time. (8) HEEZ ORL BLACK N could be best here but he may be done in by post eight; Sears needs to get aggressive early.

Race 4

(1) SOMETHINGINTHEWIND gave way on the front end with little excuse last week but from this spot Buter may look for a stalking trip. (4) TYE SEELSTER hasn't put in a bad effort since rejoining the Banca barn and he did rally well but too late last week; Brennan has some tactical options from this spot. (3) VALIDUS DEO entered claimers and tripped out; he loses Bartlett tonight and doesn't have the benefit of the rail draw.

Race 5

(6) SOMEWHERE FANCY has taken three of four versus this type and all at juicy prices. Oddly enough, he may be overlooked in the wagering again from this spot. I'm sticking with him again. (5) IDEAL COWBOY overcame a break on the final turn and rallied to win, then was lucky to survive an inquiry; clearly he's capable of repeating. (3) LORD OF MISRULE draws best of the contenders and should be forwardly placed.

Race 6

(5) MCERLEAN has proven that he's fast enough to compete with this elite type and he only needs a live trip from this midpack post to get it done. (8) TAKE IT BACK TERRY makes his second return start after finishing 2nd in the Levy final and he has much to do from this spot. (4) CROMBIE A earns a bump to the Open level off two solid off-the-pace scores.

Race 7

(1) STEVENSVILLE had no chance from post eight last week but it's a whole new ballgame from this inside draw and this Schnittker trainee can regain his form from this spot. (3) MACHS BEACH BOY may have tailed off a touch but he still should be competitive here; Gregory subs tonight for Lachance. (6) LIMELIGHT BEACH tired on the front end with little excuse upon arrival and Brennan should have him geared up early again.

Race 8

(8) LUMINOSITY was no match in his last two for Melady's Monet; that rival isn't here tonight so he gets my top billing. The strategy should be the same as usual...leave hard and keep working until he reaches the top. (7) DAYLON MIRCALE is one classy mare and she was a winner when last seen here. (6) DEWYCOLORINTHELINE is a very nice trotter but probably a notch below the top ones; consider underneath.

Race 9

I thought (2) PASS THEM BY N could have been a sneaky play last week but he never got involved from the outside post; I'll give him another stab from the inside slot for sharp connections. (4) SKY IS THE LIMIT has been in good form for some time now and also gets some needed post relief. (1) GALLANT SEELSTER is certainly in gallant form now and he lands the best post in this competitive event.

Race 10

(3) SOMEWHERE IN L A was very hard used from post eight when we last saw him at Yonkers and he didn't tire that badly. Pacer followed that up with two solid speed efforts at Philly and it should be all systems go for the Takter trainee tonight. (1) SHORTSTACKED was a bit better last week and he does get class and post relief. (4) MOONLITEONTHEBEACH can be a closing threat off any sort of decent trip.

Race 11

(4) NOT AFRAID raced reasonably well last out in his local return and the former winter/spring King of the Open should be able to resume winning ways from this spot. (2) LORENZO DREAM has the speed to step around the rail horse, then yield to the top choice and chase second best. (1) E R ELLIE draws inside and should be best of the rest.

Race 12

(1) CLASSIESISTAR N kicked home nicely last week, his first start on Lasix. I have to respect his chances from this inside post. (6) LUCAN HANOVER is better than his 1 for 15 record indicates and the gelding is capable of blowing the doors off this field. (4) IDEAL CARVER was very good in victory last out versus claimers and he deserves a look for the bottom of the ticket.
