Best Bet: AIR STRIKE (8th) Spot Play: TECHTOR HANOVER (10th) MEET STATS: 513 - 1453 / $2,786.70 BEST BETS: 73 - 127 / $238.20 Race 1 (2) VANQUISHED N was right there in his last two tries at this level and the Vallee trainee has a post edge on his main rivals and may offer the better price. (5) DOJEA SOLO drops in class (like the top choice) and will likely be on the move early. (4) SECRECY also faces lesser after flattening out badly after rallying into a live flow; Bartlett's back driving. Race 2 (1) STORMONT CZAR A failed to get involved last week from the outside post but did finish with willing pace, home in :27 4/5. Assume the Buter trainee will be cranked up tonight from the best post. (5) ALBERTO CONTADOR N is feeling good again and the veteran will undoubtedly be a player in here. (3) BULLY PULPIT ships in for connections that have had some moderate success locally and this one should go well at this level. Race 3 (2) RUN ONEOVER N seems nicely freshened off a month layoff and qualified effectively at Freehold; if ready the Dilloian trainee will take these down the road. (4) ALL DOWN THE LINE hit a bit of a dry spell recently but has looked much better in his last two with Stratton driving and he's beaten this type in the past. (3) QUICK ASA TRICK N has rallied well from off the pace in his last two; Bartlett's choice. Race 4 (1) CARRACCI HANOVER hasn't been at his best recently but it's not like he's been awful; freelegged pacer gets his best post in ages and figures not to let the opportunity pass. (3) MR D'S DRAGON has looked like a new horse since moving to the Burke barn and he does have some class as he had a big 4-year-old season; gelding should be pointed to the front. (5) TEXICAN N has raced pretty well since returning for Tritton but he's still looking for that first seasonal win. Race 5 (6) BETTORS FIRE N was a big earner Down-Under and has done everything asked of him so far for Ron Cushing, crushing lesser in New England. Let's see if he's good enough to compete here. (4) COOPERSTOWN has never been the more reliable sort on the win end but he's been looking pretty good recently. (2) MACH TIME N had no excuse last out but we know he's better than that. Race 6 (6) GOKUDO HANOVER wasn't in the best spot last out and never fired but he's reunited with Dube tonight who steered him to his prior two front-end scores; DiDomenico trainee could be a player here if effectively hustled away from the gate. (5) WEONA SIZZLER A has looked like the real deal from day one and I'll be impressed if he becomes an Open handicap winner this quickly; is it possible? (2) SOHO LENNON A has been racing great lately and can be included from the inside post. Race 7 (1) CAVIART LUCA bumps back up a notch off an easy win and lands the best post again; classy Burke trainee remains the one to beat but won't offer much value. (5) CAPOZZO has been racing well for the most part and he gets Kakaley in the bike tonight. (3) KILLER MARTINI lands his best post in ages and his last two served as decent tighteners; when on his game he's a big player with this type. Race 8 (5) AIR STRIKE tried leaving last week but quickly waved the white flag and took back to the rear having no chance; it should be a different story tonight from this improved spot. (6) SIR PUGSLEY can go with this type but he needs a strong getaway with the top choice and needs to find a spot for his best chance. (3) MACHIAVELLI isn't a threat to win but he's landed plenty of board spots recently. Race 9 (6) STOLEN CAR went down stubbornly off a rugged trip last week, getting collared by the pocket sitter who found room inside; post doesn't help here but the veteran is worthy of another try. (5) ADONIS BAY has a bit to prove at this level but he's been pretty sharp and can be a player with a live trip. (3) WINDSONG JACK never seemed all that comfortable last week but from the improved post he'll likely be looking to go wire-to-wire. Race 10 (4) TECHTOR HANOVER takes a needed drop in class tonight and may be a bit overlooked in the wagering with Dube opting off. (2) OUR ZAK WHITBY A gets class and post relief and Bartlett sticks with him over a Banca trainee. (3) STARS ALIGN A has the talent to go with these and the lightly-raced horse makes a start for the third consecutive week; Allard trainee could be tighter here.
