ETOBICOKE, Ontario — Inglorious established herself as the favorite for the June 5 Woodbine Oaks with a determined off-the-pace triumph in Sunday’s  $180,000 La Lorgnette Stakes. Luis Contreras rated Inglorious near the rear of the seven-horse field in the 1 1/16-mile route for 3-year-old fillies, as Portside set a tepid pace, while being pressed by Rein in Avaricity. Inglorious began to mount a wide bid heading into the far turn. She barged her way between rivals at the head of the stretch, before outrunning Miss Inclined in the final furlong to score by 1 1/2 lengths, in a time of 1:44.19. Anne’s Beauty nailed Miss Inclined on the wire for second. Inglorious ($3.30) banked $120,000 for Donver Stable and trainer Josie Carroll, who said there were few anxious moments on the far bend.  “Obviously, there was a concern coming out of the turn,” said Carroll. “Everybody was bunched. Was there going to be room? But I know this filly. She’s a very confident filly, and when [Contreras] saw the opening, I knew she’d go wherever he asked her to go.”
