MEET STATS: 102 - 301 / $553.40  BEST BETS: 14 - 29 / $82.30

SPOT PLAYS: 6 - 28 / $59.20

Best Bet: MAPLELEA (1st)

Spot Play: VELOCITY REIGN (8th)

Race 1

(1) MAPLELEA asserted her dominance in the second half last week to blow most of these away in the first leg of the HPI series. She's your gal if you like 1/5 shots, but bet against her at your own peril. (2) FRANNEY LOVE DAT made a remarkable recovery after an early miscue making up 12 lengths in the much faster second half of her most recent dash; exactor factor. (3) WAKE AND BAKE switched tactics totally last week, aggressively leaving the gate and cutting out the mile but was no match for the choice. It seems that one is just better at this point.

Race 2

(2) STAR OF THUNDER added lasix and joined leading trainer Moreau's stable last week then jogged with the pilot sitting motionless down the lane; call to repeat. (6) MAGIC MADNESS has blossomed with Christoforou at the controls and seems to enjoy breaks in the action. She is a major player in here. (5) TAROT has won two straight easily since changing barns and drivers. These are a bit tougher and a 30.0 final 1/4 may not cut it vs. these.

Race 3

(8) WILDCAT MAGIC shakes the white-hot Artistic Madison and has some options leaving from post 8. Top call at what will likely be a square price. (1) JUSTABIT MEAN was driven more patiently as expected and converted with a nice win, showing good late speed while doing it. She should get another good trip here and is one of the main contenders. (3) KISS ME OR NOT cut it out as expected in a filed void of speed but then flew home to an easy win. Catch her to greet the cashier.

Race 4

(5) BOAT HOUSE ROW made an uncharacteristic break last time but now drops to a new recent low and should be prominent throughout vs. these. (1) OCEANVIEW BINDI was one of few that were closing in her dash and figures highly here. (8) OSTINATO had a productive and consistent year on the 'B' circuit and could get a good piece of this at a price.

Race 5

(6) ILLSEEUINCOURT beat most of these last week when grinding out a nice win. Conditioner Moreau has been particularly deadly with conditioned and claiming trotters at this meet; call to repeat. (8) OLE BLACK MAGIC clicked off 28 and change kickers in both qualifiers leading up to this return to action. He could pop here. (2) ABC MUSCLES BOY obviously has the talent to take this but has missed 38 days action; tough call.

Race 6

(10) LIGHTS GO OUT draws her third 10-hole in a row and she has offered only token effort the first two times. You have to think vs. this weak group she will be a 'go'; top billing. (5) MILEYS BIG WORLD tried Kiss Me Or Not first-up and was easily repelled; she can go better with a covered trip. (7) CHAMPAGNE SHOWER produced her best mile of the week last week and should be able to build off that outing.

Race 7

(5) RUBIS PRESCOTT continues to come up with good results while always overlooked in the wagering in this class; call to upset. (8) MARQUISE DE SARAH went a big trip on a windy cold night to just miss; she's always dangerous. (4) GREYSTONE LADYLIKE saved everything for the final 1/8th then powered up late for the win. That tactic will be tougher to convert with the filed size increased by 50% here.

Race 8

(1) VELOCITY REIGN showed some late pep in her seasonal debut and wouldn't need a lot of improvement to topple this group; top call and tonight's Spot Play. (4) MAPPOS MOENHAY just failed to last with Filion driving for the first time last week. She actually gets to drop from NW3 to NW2; the main danger. (8) MOREMUNKEYBUSINESS went a big first up trip in the same mile and will likely be closing latest and widest for a share here.

Race 9

(3) HUBBY NUMBER ONE closed a good gap last time and gets a big driver change here; top call. (1) WHITEGLOVES showed great improvement in his second start of the year and is the one to fear. (8) PL HOUDINI popped and stopped; he is much more capable off a pocket trip if his driver can work one out here.

Race 10

(5) BET YA has gone two big trips the past two weeks and was unlucky to lose both. She looms large here. (3) A FILLY AFFAIR put in a big 2nd half but was too far back to make a big impact. She can get out better here and produce a better result. (7) ROCK N ROLL XAMPLE has been right there in all three starts this year and will be a factor on or near the pace here.

Race 11

(3) COUNTRY DELIGHT exits a race where the winner shipped in here and beat most of these last week. She fits here and should be prominent throughout. (4) ONE BADLAND NITE was an even third last week but should go better near the pace here. (1) MAKE WAY tried it first over and stalled. She can go better from the rail here. (6) THRILL CHASER can take a lot of air and keep coming. Look for her late. (8) PEPPERMINT PATTI was re-rallying at the wire, showing a bit of heart late. She can get a small share at a price here.
