Springsteen, Heavenly Sound, and Keystone Tenacious took home victories from the three New York Sire Stakes races for 3-year-old pacing colts that were held on Sunday afternoon at Tioga Downs. Springsteen, who was seventh as the favorite in the Art Rooney final most recently at Yonkers, rebounded with a 1:51 victory for David Miller in the first $40,600 flight. Real Surreal (Scott Zeron) cut fractions of 27 3/5, 56 2/5, and 1:23 after making front from the outside post eight, but Springsteen wore him down from first-up in the lane and went on to win by a length and a half.  I Soar Him First (Jason Bartlett) took third after a two-hole journey. "Actually, he was pretty easy to get along with," said Miller.  "He felt really strong the whole way, and as soon as I asked him we had plenty left there. He did that kind of handily.  I was real happy with him." Springsteen, last year's Matron winner, is a Rock N Roll Heaven colt trained by Rene Allard for owners Allard Racing Inc., Bruce Soulsby, Alan Weisenberg, and Kapildeo Singh.  Springsteen scored his fourth career victory, and he has now put $223,173 in the bank.  He was the 4-5 favorite and paid $3.80 to win. The Rooney champion, Trump Nation (Bartlett), was in action in the second $39,900 split, but he would be upset by 10-1 shot Heavenly Sound (Andrew McCarthy). Trump Nation took the lead heading to the 55 3/5 half, but Heavenly Sound was right at his nose from first-up at the 1:23 three-quarters.  They continued their duel around the last turn and into the lane, but Heavenly Sound took over there and drew off to win by a length and three-quarters in 1:50 4/5.  Ideal Feeling (Tim Tetrick) came on for second, while Trump Nation faded to third. "I guess I had a fortunate draw there," McCarthy stated.  "I got to watch them unfold that first quarter; they were speeding up there a little bit.  I was probably gapped out three or four lengths and I figured I could race him the last half.  Once I got him straightened up he had a lot left.  I got the earplugs out in the last turn, and he really responded.  Once we straightened up I pretty much sat on him and he had a little kick left." Bruce Saunders trains Heavenly Sound, another colt by Rock N Roll Heaven, for owner M And M Harness Racing LLC.  Heavenly Sound is now a six-time winner in his life, and he has put away $81,317.  He returned $22.00 to win. In the final $39,000 section, Keystone Tenacious (Mark MacDonald) made front in a 27 2/5 first quarter, then backed down the half to just 57 1/5.  With that rating in the bank, he easily fended off a first-over My Delight (Marcus Miller) to the 1:24 2/5 three-quarters and hit the wire a length and a quarter to the good in a 1:52 1/5 mile.  Twin B Tuffenuff (Tetrick) followed My Delight's cover and came in third. "I was just kind of letting him coast along.  He's a really nice horse," MacDonald offered.  "He was fourth in the Breeders Crown last year.  I let him roll a little bit down the backstretch, and he won pretty easy.  I just wanted to keep My Delight right on my wheel.  He likes company.  He's never going to win by ten or anything like that.  He likes to hear footsteps and he's really gritty and game.  He's actually probably a little bit better from off-the-pace, but today I just thought he was in a really good spot." The victorious So Surreal colt is trained by Paul Kelley for owners Patricia Stable and Lawrence Thomases.  Keystone Tenacious now has a trio of triumphs and earnings of $133,182.  He was the 5-2 third choice and paid $7.30 to win.
