Three fillies drill fastest furlong during second OBS April Breeze Show


A trio of fillies breezed an eighth of a mile in :9.80 seconds on Wednesday to mark the fastest time at the distance during the second Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. spring 2-year-olds in training sale under-tack show.

A bay filly by El Corredor was the first to stop the clock in the co-fastest time of the day. The second foal out of the winning Kissin Kris mare Faire La Bise, the filly is from the family of Grade 1 winner Header Card, Grade 2 winner and sire Intidab, and Grade 3-placed stakes winner Private Son. She is consigned by Top Line Sales, agent.

Also turning in a bullet workout was a filly by Cowtown Cat, out of the stakes-placed winning Goodbye Doeny mare Goodbye Beautiful. She is a sibling of two winners from as many to race, and comes from the family of Canadian champion Happy Victory and Chilean Group 2 winner Easy Lover. McKathan Bros., agent, is the consignor.

A Wildcat Heir filly rounded out the list; she is out of the Caller I. D. mare Leah’s Angel, who is the dam of six winners from eight to race, including Grade 3 winner Expect an Angel. Consigned by de Meric Sales, agent, the filly’s page also includes Grade 2 winner Potesta and multiple stakes winner Morris Code.

Three horses also turned in the fastest time for a two-furlong breeze on Wednesday, stopping the clock in :20.80 over the Ocala Training Center’s synthetic Safetrack surface.

It’s a Lie, a Yes It’s True filly, was among the offerings to mark the co-fastest time on day two. The dark bay or brown filly is out of the Red Ransom mare For Scarlett, who has produced one winner from two to race—stakes-placed winner Samurai Slam. Consigned by Indian Prairie Ranch, agent, the filly’s notable family members include multiple Grade 2 winners and sires Chimes Band and Freefourinternet.

Top Line Sales, as agent, also consigns a horse that turned in the co-fastest quarter mile time of the day, a gray or roan Rockport Harbor colt out of the stakes-winning Jeblar mare Hummel. He is a sibling to one winner from two to race, and his page also includes Grade 3-placed stakes winner No Sleep and stakes winners Hollywood Left and Misguided Left.

Rounding out the fastest two-furlong horses during Wednesday’s portion of the under-tack show was I See Back, a Put It Back colt out of the winning Sejm mare I See Gold. He is a full brother to stakes-placed winner Back to Gold, one of two winners from as many to race out of the dam. Other successful relations of this colt, consigned by Blue River Bloodstock as agent, are Grade 1 winner and sire Birdonthewire, Group 1 winner Terre a Terre, Grade 2 winner Tizdejavu, Grade 3 winner Polished Brass, and Grade 2-placed stakes winner Oro de Mexico.

The OBS spring sale’s breeze show continues through Friday, April 19, beginning each day at 8 a.m. Eastern. The four-day sale will commence on Monday, April 22, with each session beginning at 10:30 a.m.
