Multiple Grade 1 winner Rock Hard Ten has been sold to the Korean Racing Authority to stand at stud in Korea. The 11-year-old son of Kris S. began his stud career in 2006 at William S. Farish’s Lane’s End Farm in Versailles, Ky., and stood for $20,000 in 2012. Bloodstock agent Rollin Baugh handled the sale, and the horse will return to the U.S. at the conclusion of his stud career.

Rock Hard Ten has sired 13 stakes winners from four crops of racing age, including Grade 1 winner Nereid and Grade 2 winners Doubles Partner and Capital Plan. Although Rock Hard Ten raced exclusively on dirt, he has proven to be a successful turf sire and currently ranks 14th on the North American turf sire list.

Campaigned by Mercedes Stable and his breeder, Madeleine Paulson Pickens, Rock Hard Ten won seven times in 11 starts in two seasons of racing, earning $1,870,380. He won five graded stakes, including the Grade 1 Santa Anita Handicap, and was second in the 2004 Preakness Stakes.
