Old Fashioned filly breezes fastest furlong in OBS April under-tack finale


Pop of Color, a filly by Old Fashioned, turned in the fastest time for one furlong during the final session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. spring 2-year-olds in training sale, covering the distance in :9.80 seconds.

The chestnut filly is the second foal out of the Double Honor mare Splendid Honor, and comes from the family of Grade 1 winners Splendid Blended and Kamikaze Rick, Grade 3 winner Richly Blended, and Grade 3-placed stakes winner Crusader’s Poetry. She is consigned by Costanso Sales, agent.

A Street Boss filly completed the fastest quarter-mile breeze of the day, finishing in :20.60 seconds over the Ocala Training Center’s synthetic Safetrack surface.

The chestnut filly is out of Black Minnaloushe mare Sigatoo, who is the dam of two winners from three to race. Consigned by de Meric Sales, agent, her page also includes multiple English and Irish champions El Gran Senor and Try My Best, Group 1 winner Bahamian Pirate, and Grade 2 winner and sire Strong Hope, and Group 2 winner Clapton.

The four-day OBS spring sale begins on Monday, April 22, with each session beginning at 10:30 a.m. Eastern.
