OBS March: Six tie for fastest furlong

A sextet of juveniles breezed an eighth of a mile in 9 4/5 seconds on Thursday to lead the day at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. March 2-year-olds in training under-tack show.

Following are the six horses to lead the second of three days of the under-tack show, which is held on the Ocala Training Center’s synthetic Safetrack surface. The overall leader remains a Scat Daddy filly who breezed a furlong in 9 3/5 seconds during Wednesday’s opening group of workers.

Hip No. 224, a Midshipman filly who is the second foal out of the winning Cherokee Run mare Keowee Clai. Consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds, agent, the filly’s page includes Grade 1-placed stakes winner Stopshoppingmaria and Grade 3-placed stakes winner Sand Ridge.

Hip No. 246, a Quality Road colt who is the second foal out of the unplaced Forestry mare Lesson Plan. He is from the family of Grade 1 winners Sahara Sky and Bachelor Beau, Grade 2 winners Seeking Regina and Just Jenda, and Grade 3 winners Dixie Band and Seeking the Sky. He is consigned by Halcyon Hammock Farm, agent.

Hip No. 287, a Scat Daddy colt out of the placed Meadowlake mare Molly Peaches, who is the dam of one foal to race. He is from the family of Group 3 winners Camargo and Shantaram, and he is consigned by Wavertree Stables, agent.

Hip No. 336, a Tiz Wonderful filly out of the winning Polish Pro mare Polish Silk. The dam is a producer of five winners from six foals to race, including multiple stakes-winning full sibling I Got It All and stakes producer Silky Kitty. The family also includes Grade 2 winner On to Royalty, and she is consigned by Halcyon Hammock Farm, agent.

Hip No. 398, a Tale of the Cat filly who is the second foal out of the unraced El Corredor mare Savviest. Grade 1 winners Tactical Cat and Skip Trial are on the filly’s page. Old South Farm consigns the filly as agent.

Hip No. 401, a colt from the first crop of sire Uncle Mo, the first foal out of the Grade 3-placed stakes-winning Tale of the Cat mare Sea Road. Consigned as agent by All In Sales, the colt is from the family of champion War Pass, Grade 1 winners Karlovy Vary and Oath, multiple Grade 2 winner Great Intentions, and Grade 3 winner Country Light.

A trio of colts breezed two furlongs in 20 3/5 seconds on Thursday to take over the fastest overall time at the distance during the OBS March breeze show.

Hip No. 215, a Discreetly Mine colt out of the winning Grand Slam mare Jazzy Melissa, whose first foal to race is a winner. He is from the family of Group 1 winner Caller One and Grade 2 winner Prospect Bay. SGV Thoroughbreds consigns the colt as agent.

Hip No. 220, a Wildcat Heir colt out of the winning Bertrando mare Just Call Me Berty, whose seven winners from eight foals to race includes stakes-placed All Said and Done. Grade 1 winner Currency Swap is on the colt’s page, as are Grade 3 winners Black Jack Road and You’renotlistening. He is consigned by Woodside Ranch, agent.

Hip No. 298, Diamond Outlet, a colt from the first crop of sire You Luckie Mann, out of the winning Montbrook mare My Outlet. The dam is a producer of four winners from as many runners, including Grade 2-placed Handsome Jack. He is consigned by de Meric Sales, agent.

The third and final day of the OBS March under-tack show will be held Friday, beginning at 8 a.m. Eastern. The sale will be held March 17-18 with an 11 a.m. start time.
