OBS June: Three tie for quickest furlong Saturday


The sixth and final day of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. 2-year-olds in training and horses of racing age sale under-tack show saw three more juveniles tie for the fastest overall time for a one-furlong breeze Saturday, bringing the number of horses to work in 9.80 seconds to 16.

The following juveniles earned the co-fastest time of the breeze show over the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface.

Hip No. 1018, Coastal Sea, a Kantharos filly out of the unraced West Acre mare Terri’s Choice, whose two winners from as many foals to race include the Grade 2-placed stakes winner You Luckie Mann. The Florida-bred’s page also includes the Grade 1 winner Sir Beaufort, the Grade 2-placed Carolina North, and the Grade 3-placed Sweet Lorena. She is consigned by Cutting Edge Equine, agent.

Hip No. 1072, a filly from the first crop of sire Uncle Mo, out of the unplaced Lawyer Ron mare Undercover Justice. She is from the family of the English Horse of the Year Zilzal, the Canadian champion Negligee, and the Grade/Group 3 winners Hula Queen and Loving Pride. Wavertree Stables consigns the filly as agent.

Hip No. 1081, a Speightstown filly out of the stakes-winning Orientate mare Via Veneto. Consigned by Top Line Sales, agent, the Florida-bred filly is from the family of the Grade 1 winner First Dude.

Three juveniles breezed a quarter-mile in 20.60, tying the three horses to achieve the fastest time at the distance earlier in the week.

Hip No. 1024, an Awesome of Course filly out of the unraced Valid Wager mare The Church Lady. The filly is a sibling to six winners from as many foals to race, including the stakes winner Sheyenne Girl and the stakes-placed Codio. Bred in Florida, the filly’s page includes the stakes winners First Calss Fever, Charlie You Know, and Rockabye Joshua. She is consigned by Wavertree Stables, agent.

Hip No. 1067, a Discreet Cat colt out of the winning Diablo mare Two Bad Girls, whose five winners from six foals to race include the Grade 2 winner Twice as Bad and the stakes-placed Twiceasbeautiful. The New York-bred colt’s family includes Grade 3-placed stakes winner Kindly Court, and he is consigned by Jet Set Equine Sales, agent.

Hip No. 1161, Shupanga, a Pioneerof the Nile colt out of the winning Doneraile Court mare Shamoiselle, who has had one winner from two foals to race. Shupanga is from the family of the Grade 3 winner Sham Francisco and the Grade 2-placed Shammy Davis and Halo Hansom. He is consigned by de Meric Sales, agent.
