The following horses were selected as yearlings to watch at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. August yearling sale based on their pedigrees. Conformation, physical characteristics, veterinarian records, and late updates to their pedigrees were not taken into consideration.

Hip No. 21, b. c., by Curlin—Awesome Fleet, by Awesome Again, consigned by Beth Bayer, agent.
Awesome Fleet, a half-sister to champion Afleet Alex, was a $1.4 million yearling and is the dam of one foal to race, a winner. Bred in Florida by Dizney Double Diamond LLC, this colt is from the family of Grade 1-placed stakes winner Topic and Grade 2-placed stakes winner and sire Unforgettable Max.

Hip No. 34, gr. or ro. c., by Hold Me Back—Bodhavista, by Pass the Tab, consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds, agent.
This is a half-brother to three-time Grade 2 winner and classic-placed Imperialism, out of the unplaced Pass the Tab mare Bodhavista. The dam’s eight winners from 11 starters include Grade 2-placed stakes winner White Beauty and an additional stakes-placed runner. Second dam Fia, a Grade 1-placed runner, is the pivot point of a family that includes Grade 1 winner and young sire Colonel John and steeplechase Grade 1 winner Mr. Hot Stuff, also Grade 1-placed on the flat. The colt was bred in Florida by Woodford Thoroughbreds.

Hip No. 58, dk. b. or br. c., by Gone Astray—Courtly Choice, by Doneraile Court, consigned by Select Sales, agent.
Courtly Choice, a winning Doneraile Court mare, has had one foal to race – the Grade 2 winner Wild Dude, who has come into his own this year in Southern California. Bred in Florida by Versatile Thoroughbreds, Michael Crowe, and Judy Crowe, this yearling colt brought $62,000 as a weanling at last year’s OBS fall mixed sale and will be a pinhooking prospect for buyer Machmer Hall. He is from the family of Grade 2 winner Lady Eleanor.

Hip No. 61, ch. f., by First Samurai—Cryptoqueen, by Cryptoclearance, consigned by First Finds, agent.
The product of a veteran broodmare in the placed runner Cryptoqueen, this filly is a half-sister to multiple Grade 3 winner Clearly a Queen, who is herself a multiple stakes producer. Cryptoqueen’s eight winners from 11 starters also include stakes-placed runners Donna Getyourgun and Queen Martha. The Virginia-bred filly from the program of Albert Coppola sold for $22,000 as a weanling at the 2013 Keeneland November breeding stock sale.

Hip No. 69, Mo’s Design, b. c., by Uncle Mo—Design Mine, by Mineshaft, consigned by Green Lane Farm South.
He is from the first crop of sire Uncle Mo, whose foals have performed well at the early yearling sales. Mo’s Design is the first foal out of the unraced Mineshaft mare Design Mine, who is a full sister to Grade 2 winner Redding Colliery and a half-sister to Grade 2-placed stakes winner Joopy Doopy. The colt was bred in Florida by Green Lane Farm South.

Hip No. 97, Lady Arielle’s Key, ch. f., by Indygo Shiner—Forest Key, by Green Forest, consigned by TdM Sales, agent for Palm Meadows Farm.
Lady Arielle’s Key is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Gaviola, among the six winners from 11 foals to race out of the winning Green Forest mare Forest Key. Bred in New York by Michael Bronzino, the filly is also a sibling to a pair of stakes producers, including the aforementioned Gaviola.

Hip No. 128, b. c., by Desert Party—Honour Isabel, by Honour and Glory, consigned by Craig L. Wheeler, agent.
He is the first foal out of the winning Honour and Glory mare Honour Isabel, whose dam is a half-sister to 2006 Broodmare of the Year Cara Rafaela. This puts the colt in the family of champion and standout sire Bernardini, Grade 1 winner Love and Pride, Grade 1-placed Ile de France, and Grade 3 winners Abaginone and Thiskyhasnolimit. The colt was bred in Florida by Craig Wheeler Thoroughbreds.

Hip No. 175, Roaring Star, dk. b. or br. f., by First Dude—Parental Uproar, by Future Storm, consigned by Southern Breeze Ranch, agent.
This filly is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Hurricane Ike and Grade 3-placed stakes winner Drums of Thunder, both of whom are young sires. Those two are among four winners from as many foals to race out of the unraced Future Storm mare Parental Uproar. Bred in Florida by Stanley Boileau, Roaring Star is from the family of Grade 3 winner Rullah Runner.

Hip No. 180, gr. or ro. f., by Unbridled’s Song—Powerful Package, by Star de Naskra, consigned by Perrone Sales, agent.
This hip is the auction’s lone offering by the late sire Unbridled’s Song. Bred in Florida by Angela Ingenito and The Unbridled’s Song Syndicate, the filly is out of the stakes-placed Star de Naskra mare Powerful Package, whose three winners from six foals to race include Grade 3 winner Derwin’s Star. She is from the family of Grade 1 Travers Stakes winner and sire Carr de Naskra.

Hip No. 192, b. f., by Colonel John—Regal Miss Copelan, by Copelan, consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds, agent.
A half-sister to the late Grade 2 winner and sire Rockport Harbor, out of the stakes-winning Copelan mare Regal Miss Copelan, the filly is a sibling to six winners from 10 foals to race and hails from the family of Grade 2 winner Regally Appealing. She was bred in Florida by Woodford Thoroughbreds.
