OBS April: Two match fastest furlong as breeze show concludes

A Harlan’s Holiday filly and a Street Cry colt each worked a furlong in :9 4/5 seconds to tie for the fastest time overall during the sixth and final session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. spring 2-year-olds in training sale’s under-tack show on Saturday.

The horses, who are both consigned by de Meric Sales, as agent, breezed over the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface. Both matched the fastest furlong mark established by a Lemon Drop Kid filly during Thursday’s fourth session; 30 other juveniles breezed in :10 flat over the course of the week.

The Harlan’s Holiday filly is out of the unraced Tiznow mare Favoritism. The second dam is graded stakes placed Chaste.

The Street Cry colt is out of the Bernardini mare Gharbiah, a half sister to Grade 1 winner Honey Ryder and two other stakes winners, including the dam of Grade 2 winner Dominus.

Three juveniles shared the time for the fastest quarter of the sixth session, each breezing in :21 seconds flat:

► An Interactif colt consigned by Eddie Woods, as agent. The colt, out of the Dehere mare Grable, is a half brother to stakes winner Get in Da House.

► A filly from the first crop of Here Comes Ben, consigned by Ciaran Dunne’s Wavertree Stables, as agent. The filly is out of the Unbridled Time mare Hickory Belle, a half sister to stakes winner Platel.

► An Exchange Rate colt consigned by Off the Hook LLC, as agent. Out of the Mr. Greeley mare Juneau, he is a half brother to stakes-placed Alaska Miss.

A filly from the first crop of Big Drama breezed a quarter in :20 3/5 earlier in the week to reign as the breeze show’s top time at that distance.

The OBS spring sale will be held April 21-24, starting each day at 10:30 a.m. Eastern.
