OBS April: Ten juveniles tie for fastest furlong of fifth session


Ten juveniles by 10 different sires tied for the fastest one-furlong breeze at :10 seconds during the fifth session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. spring 2-year-olds in training sale’s under-tack show.

The horses all completed their breezes over the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface.

The 2-year-olds tied with the fastest furlong works were:

► A Lemon Drop Kid filly consigned by Randy Miles, as agent. Out of the stakes-placed Devil’s Bag mare Carafe, the filly is a half-sister to two stakes-placed winners, and is from the family of classic-placed Strodes Creek.

► A City Zip filly, consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, agent. The filly is out of the Smoke Glacken mare Cateleisha, a full sister to stakes winner Smokieisabandit.

► A filly from the first crop of Tizway, and out of the stakes-placed Souvenir Copy mare Cedar Summer. The filly is consigned by King’s Equine, as agent for Spendthrift Farm.

► An Into Mischief filly out of the unraced Value Plus mare Cup Racer. She is consigned by Scanlon Training Center, agent.

► Forever Darling, a Congrats filly consigned by Old South Farm, as agent. She is out of graded-placed stakes winner Darling My Darling, by Deputy Minister. The second dam is Grade 1 winner Roamin Rachel, who also produced Japanese Horse of the Year Zenno Rob Roy.

► A Tale of the Cat filly out of the stakes-placed Congrats mare Days Like This. She is consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds, as agent.

► A Posse filly consigned by McKathan Brothers, agent. She is out of the stakes-placed D’wildcat mare D’Country.

► A Yesbyjimminy filly consigned by Blue River Bloodstock, agent. Out of the Valid Appeal mare Diplomatic Angel, she is a half sister to graded stakes placed stakes winner Tropic Storm.

► A Cool Coal Man colt consigned by Eisaman Equine, agent. He is from the family of Grade 1 winner Dance With Fate and graded stakes winner Biogio’s Rose.

► A Majesticperfection filly also consigned by Woodford, as agent. The filly is out of the stakes-placed Eastern Echo mare Echo Echo Echo, dam of Grade 2 winner Letgomyecho, stakes winner Soundwave, two stakes-placed winners, and a handful of stakes producers, including the dam of Kentucky Derby hopeful One Lucky Dane.

A Bernardini filly turned in the fifth session’s fastest quarter-mile work, going in :20 4/5 seconds. The filly is out of the winning Storm Cat mare Dark Sky, a full sister to French Oaks winner Nebraska Tornado and a half sister to Grade 3 winner Mirabilis and stakes winner Burning Sun. The filly is consigned by King’s Equine, as agent.

The OBS spring breeze show concludes Saturday, with the sixth and final session beginning at 8 a.m. Eastern. The sale will be held April 21-24, starting each day at 10:30 a.m.
