HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Cyber Secret on Saturday remained perfect at the Oaklawn Park meet put on by his owner, Charles Cella, when he edged Golden Ron by a head to win the Grade 3, $150,000 Razorback Handicap.
It was the third local win this season for Cyber Secret, who had taken a pair of allowances leading up to what served as a prep for next month’s Grade 2, $500,000 Oaklawn Handicap.
“It’s always nice when you win for the boss,” said winning rider Robby Albarado.
Cyber Secret ($16.40) settled in fifth in the early stages of the Razorback, as Golden Ron was clear through fractions of 23.80 seconds for the opening quarter, 47.80 for the half-mile and 1:12.64 for six furlongs. Cyber Secret angled off the fence heading into the final turn, advanced three wide, and worked his way past a stubborn Golden Ron to win the 1 1/16-mile race for older horses in 1:44.80.
“He’s a maturing horse,” said Albarado, who was aboard for trainer Lynn Whiting. “He’s going to be a horse to be reckoned with the rest of the year if he continues to settle early and finish like he did.”
Whiting said Cyber Secret would be pointed toward the Oaklawn Handicap, which will be run here April 13.
Atigun finished third in the Razorback, a half-length behind Golden Ron. Brethren was fourth, followed by Alternation, the favorite in his first start since October; San Pablo; Najjaar; Donoharm, who was seeking his sixth straight win; Ride the Lightning; and Raison d’Etat.
Attendance at Oaklawn was 19,886.

GHOSTLY APPEAL has been on the sidelines for more than nine months. She'll be hard to deny on the drop from $12,500 N2L to $5,000 N2L if she's ready to roll in her return. WINTER ROCKET made up ground late, but still finished in the rear-half of the pack when she was overmatched against Louisiana-bred $12,500 N2L's in her return from a freshening. She'll be a factor in the exotics on the class drop to open $5,000 N2L. SHE'S BONAFIDE didn't show as much early speed as usual, then rallied to challenge for the lead.
