What if?  What if the Florida Derby had not been run on a sloppy track which apparently turned off Mohaymen and he had run first.   Different story in the betting?    Nyquist and Mohaymen are the same horses today.

Hopefully the track crew won't have the track as set up for speed as they did for the oaks .no one could close .

how can anyone in their right mind take 2/1 on anything in this years derby, great betting race just throw him out, looks like this years "wise guys horse" is gun runner and why not he will get first run on cheap speed danzing candy and if good enough he will be able to hold off the late closers

I'm torn between Gun Runner and Suddenbreakingnews, leaning to Gun Runner for my key, but not there yet...

Gun Runner isn't the best horse, but the post position sets him up to get the run of the race.  He likes to stalk on the rail.  His has no speed to his inside and no speed outside until the 9 horse.  He should be able to get out and find his spot quickly without a bunch of horses folding over on him.  All of the speed will have to do some work to get position in front of him.  He's going to have his chances.
