Superfecta?

I probably will stop betting the Derby if the favorites keep winning every year. A 2-1 win payout and a $30 exacta payout in a 20-horse field is pathetic. What I really don't understand is how the racing commentators kept saying that Nyquist was getting no respect; he actually was a shorter price than American Pharoah last year.

The value this year was in the pick 4. We hit it and it paid well. We only took 3 horses in the Derby.  We were anywhere from 5 deep to all in the other legs.
Hit the Super High Five on a $54 ticket. That was luck.

For the most part it was a miserable event from a parimutuel standpoint, especially considering that it was a 20 horse field. Having the two morning line favorites run 1-2 in a 20 field that big is as disappointing as it gets in horse racing.

I suppose that if you could have strung together a P4 or P5 ticket it may have been an eventful day but who can pick four or five winner in a row at Churchill Downs?

what i saw was, all the talking heads and various experts and writers, trying to steer you away from what was obvious to me(and probably to them) the BEST horse. trying to get all the stupid money on the horses that had no shot. but, the wise folk(the real handicappers) knew who to bet, hence the 2-1 odds and the win.

as i wrote about it in the USa Today`s sports section,i predicted the superfecta  and i still wonder why go Against a horse who has beaten his competition, his best competition ,seven races in a row,or at least in five of those Grade I races...So  what makes a' horse racing 'Xpert"? Anyone  with an opinion,no matter how asinine'yes ,like a donkey,is? where`s the logic, common sense?Learning from Russ Harris` predictions in the former horse racing pages of the NYDN,and just like in the NYPost,Newsday ,and many other papers, all Extinct of any  horse racing info besides this Oasis,DRF,still the Bible of Horse racing info and PP,and all nuances of the sport,.In retrospect, the top four finishers were all the top favorites  with Nyquist standing on his own  throne,by himself. The  question was who was going to be the second place horse; 11-14-5 or 3?As for the upcoming[ boring] Preakness,Nyquist could be odds on or less. I`ll wait until the Belmont ,watching it live,,maybe ,just  maybe the place and show horses may be  able to pass Nyquist on that long Elmont stretch,,just maybe. The Number$ do not lie,'EXPERTS",stop trying to be kool, losers!' Don`t Know Much About Horse Racing',,shootin` in the dark does not give you a prize,,,Check the PP #s again and see and accept that Nyquist has no equals, not yet, anyway,, Ciao,Baby!

If you want to  make a bet, your First investment should be the DRF.It will be worth the investment. So skip a race, buy a copy and absorb it from the first to the last page of your favorite  bug track. Would you go to a fight naked and without a weapon? To me that`s what it feels like going to OTB or the track is like  without the DRF. .Unprepared and naked.ML,jockeys, trainers don`t tell you Anything but the names; The Horses` Past performances tell you the real story. Most jockeys lose over 80% of their races,if not more. Same with trainers and any Jockey/trainer combos. DIG It ?

I am such a newbie at all of this betting stuff. So I placed a $40 bet for Nyqvist to win. I have not cashed in my ticket ~  i have to wait two weeks for the next race. We live in a tiny town and have to drive 60 miles to place the bet ~  I know ~ but it was fun. What did I win?
