Keeneland September: Street Cry filly sparks late fireworks at $1.05 million

A Street Cry filly from an outstanding female family sold to Mandy Pope for $1.05 million late in a strong session of the Keeneland September yearling sale.

The filly is out of Tizso, a full sister to Horse of the Year and two-time Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Tiznow, as well as to graded stakes winners Budroyale and Tizdubai and stakes winner Tizbud. Another full sister, Tizamazing, is the dam of 2013 Preakness Stakes winner Oxbow.

Continuing in the footsteps of that lineage, Tizso is the dam of Grade 1 winner Payner, Grade 3 winner Tiz West, stakes winner Tizakitty, stakes-placed Tizalovelylady, and stakes producer Tizprecious.

The filly was consigned by Taylor Made Sales, as agent. She was the sixth horse in Wednesday’s third session – and 11th at the sale overall – to sell for a seven-figure price. It was the second major purchase of the day for Pope, who earlier landed the sale-leading Tapit colt for $2.1 million.
