A Tapit colt sold for $1.55 million to Nat Rea’s Regis Farms and Stonestreet Stables as a strong third session of the Keeneland September yearling sale continued on Wednesday.

The colt, consigned by Gainesway, as agent, is out of the Grade 3-winning Orientate mare Successful Outlook. Her lone foal to race is unbeaten Sweet Lulu, by Mr. Greeley. That filly captured her third win in as many outings when she shipped from California to New York in August to capture the Grade 1 Test Stakes at Saratoga Race Course.

“If [this colt] runs on the track, we can stand him,” said Richard Hogan, bloodstock agent for Rea. “He's got a very good, live pedigree. He's a half-brother to a Grade 1 winner now. Tapit speaks for himself.

“The colt has just got a cat-like walk, light on his feet, athletic,” Hogan added. “I thought he was a great colt – the best physical I've probably seen in the sale. I think he's all racehorse and I'm delighted we have him.”
