Keeneland September: Day 12 hips to watch

Hip No 3637, dark bay or brown colt, by Bellamy Road—Heavenly Glory, by Honour and Glory, consigned by Moonestone Sales, agent.
A half-brother to multiple Grade 2-placed stakes winner Celestial Kitten. Winning dam Heavenly Glory is a producer of four winners from five foals to race, including stakes-placed winner Visions of Roses. The colt was bred in Kentucky by Julia and Anthony Rice and hails from the family of Preakness Stakes winner Codex, Grade 2 winner Eminency, Grade 3 winners Chandtrue and Katonka, and Puerto Rican champion Formerly Diablo.

Hip No. 3641, chestnut filly, by Perfect Soul—Hollywood Now, by Tiznow, consigned by Four Star Sales, agent.
An Ontario-bred product of Charles Fipke’s program, this filly is the first foal out of a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Quintons Gold Rush and Kentucky Derby runner-up Golden Soul. The latter is by the same sire as this filly, making for a very similar cross. The filly’s page also includes French Oaks winner Lady in Silver.


Hip No. 3665, dark bay or brown filly, by U S Ranger—Lemon Pop Lassie, by Lemon Drop Kid, consigned by Pauls Mill, agent.Grade 3 winner Flashy Lassy is a half-sibling to this filly, who is out of the Lemon Drop Kid mare Lemon Pop Lassie. The dam is a producer of two winners from as many foals to race, and comes from the family of Grade 2 winner Forlana and Grade 3 winner McCann. The yearling filly was bred in Kentucky by Mr. and Mrs. Hugh King and Ben Walden Jr.

Hip No. 3714, bay colt, by Flower Alley—Pacific Sky, by Stormy Atlantic, consigned by St. George Sales, agent.
A third-generation product from the breeding program of Sanford Robertson, this colt is out of the unraced mare Pacific Sky, who is a three-quarter sister to Grade 1 winner and young sire Eskendereya and a half-sister to Group 1 winner Balmont, both also bred by Robertson. Pacific Sky is the dam of two winners from three foals to race. This colt’s page also features Grade 2 winner and sire Blazonry.


Hip No. 3780, bay colt, by After Market—Tante Mausie, by Fusaichi Pegasus, consigned by Trackside Farm, agent.This colt, by young Lane’s End sire After Market, was sold as a short yearling during the Keeneland January auction, bringing $9,500 from Edwin Mundo. He is the third foal from his dam, who is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed Santiva and to Grade 2-placed winners Take Arms and Her Majesty. Bred in Kentucky by Dr. Jeff Allen, the colt is from the family of champion sprinter and multiple stakes producer Safely Kept, as well as Grade 2 winner and sire Partner’s Hero.
