Jaycito is expected to make his 3-year-old debut in the $150,000 San Vicente Stakes at Santa Anita on Feb. 20.

The $150,000 San Vicente Stakes at Santa Anita next Sunday could produce a few starters for the $250,000 San Felipe Stakes on March 12.

The Grade 2 San Vicente, run over seven furlongs, is expected to feature Jaycito, the winner of the Grade 1 Norfolk Stakes last fall who has not started since finishing a troubled sixth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Churchill Downs in November.

Jaycito is expected to face as Indian Winter and City Cool, the first two finishers of the San Pedro Stakes last month, as well as Metropolitan Man, Oakcrest Drive, Surrey Star, Sway Away, and possibly The Factor.

The Factor set a six-furlong track record of 1:06.98 in a maiden special weight race on Dec. 26 in his second start. He missed training time in January because of a bruised foot, and is scheduled to work at Hollywood Park on Monday. Trainer Bob Baffert said Monday’s workout will determine whether The Factor starts in the San Vicente.
