Second in the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, Haskell Invitational, and Travers, Victory Gallop won the Grade 1 Whitney at 1 1/8 miles as a four-year-old. Among the route winners sired by Victory Gallop are Prince Will I Am, the hero of the Grade 1 Jamaica at nine furlongs on the grass (also a graded winner on dirt at 1 1/2 miles), and Free Fee Lady, who scored in the Wonder Where Stakes at 1 1/4 miles on turf at Woodbine. Dam: Night Edition was multiple stakes-placed in Canada at 1 1/16 miles (twice on dirt, once on grass). She won her maiden in an About 1 1/4-mile turf race. A half-brother, G S T BLUES, was a stakes-winning sprinter that also succeeded at 1 1/16 miles while a full sister, Sweet Marie, placed third in the South Ocean Stakes at 1 1/16 miles. Jaycito's third dam, Sundae Star (by Right Combination), was a multiple stakes-winner. Outlook: Both sire and dam had stamina so Jaycito is a good candidate to appreciate the demanding Derby distance.
