Gulfstream Park Analysis: Tuesday, December 26th

Mike Welsch|Dec 23, 2017

BEST BET: All Go (11th race)

First Race

1. Venezuelan Forever 2. Michelle'z Laugh 3. Sol Dat Sugar

VENEZUELAN FOREVER adds blinkers, switches to more experienced pilot, should move forward enough to earn diploma in this spot. MICHELLE'Z LAUGH in hot hands since her last, expecting big improvement here. SOL DAT SUGAR on the AE list but in a paceless race could stand some catching if she draws in.

Second Race

1. Ranger in Paradise 2. He's Got Talent 3. Bordini

RANGER IN PARADISE in dangerous hands off the claim. Worked solid 5/8's for new connections since last. Back on favorite strip today. HE'S GOT TALENT shows up vs. straight claiming company or the first time in a while, may ultimately prove one to catch. BORDINI an intriguing new face to the category. Held own with much stronger earlier this year in Kentucky. Could fit for this tag.

Third Race

1. Mo Shopping 2. Jubilant 3. Ballylin

MO SHOPPING plunges into selling ranks off disappointing bow, barn has had much success with this type of drop earlier in the session. JUBILANT continues to improve, working well, might handle the hike while re-united with Saez today. BALLYLIN has worked forwardly enough to show some respect debuting for a tag.

Fourth Race

1. Jay's Way 2. J Boys Echo 3. You're to Blame

JAY'S WAY looks like the quickest of this bunch after chasing, fading late in the Claiming Crown Jewel. Might not look back if able to relax some on the lead. J BOYS ECHO showed signs of renewed life in CD finale, looked much better working here last weekend than he had all last winter. Sitting on winning try with this kind. YOU'RE TO BLAME first time Pletcher a very consistent sort from a Beyer standpoint but a beaten favorite in each of his last two starts. Hard to ignore.

Fifth Race

1. Grace B 2. Trip the Queen 3. Dusty Bottoms

GRACE B one of only a couple of horses in here proven on dirt and looks like the quickest of the bunch if she leaves running. Taken to lead these a merry chase with a clean beginning. TRIP THE QUEEN in new hands since last, switches back to dirt, adds blinkers, and Gaffalione stays. ONe to fear. DUSTY BOTTOMS a new face to a weak category although works just average at best. Still wouldn't have to be much to win off the bench in here.

Sixth Race

1. Unexpected Visit 2. Paddys Class 3. Circle the Bases

UNEXPECTED VISIT comes off her best yet in Md. finale and might get just enough pace to run at to be along in time on drop for a tag. PADDYS CLASS another getting class relief while returning to what may be her favorite surface. Showed promise launching career over Kentucky Downs sod earlier this season. CIRCLE THE BASES sheds blinkers but may prove one to catch on the stretch around two turns for high percentage barn.

Seventh Race

1. Sunnysammi 2. Lonesome Palm 3. Grace Appeal

SUNNYSAMMI appears to tower over these from a Figures standpoint dropping for this tag off a series of good efforts in N Y Hard to look past from this barn even at a short price. LONESOME PALM could prove a sleeper of sorts off improved work from the gate here on 12/17. May relish turn back to 5/8's. GRACE APPEAL ran well off extended vacation in lone try across town and back on what may be her favorite course this afternoon. Figures forwardly throughout.

Eighth Race

1. Bella Bailar 2. April Rose 3. Quality Time

BELLA BAILAR showing big speed in the a.m. in preparations for her local bow. Might not look back if able to sprint away early under aggressive pilot. APRIL ROSE turned in career best effort beating same kind in January, took extended vacation, exits much needed out across town. Expecting big improvement. QUALITY TIME a consistent sort to day for top barn, may not be facing any tougher than she was favored over and finished second against last time in Md.

Ninth Race

1. Tea and Cricket 2. Dance Around 3. Eye of the Lion

TEA AND CRICKET worked too well prior to last start not to give another look off a tough trip and another class drop. May offer some value here. DANCE AROUND exits bullet work for drop to weakest level yet. Figures forwardly throughout but must avoid potential duel with King Power. EYE OF THE LION another getting much needed class relief, already owns a win here at a one turn mile, best puts him right in this mix.

Tenth Race

1. Susie Bee 2. Browse 3. Frosty Friday

SUSIE BEE exits a steady series of okay main track works in preparations for her return to turf, classes up nicely with this group. Should be along. BROWSE strictly the one to fear off last pair, looks like she'll be forwardly placed throughout. FROSTY FRIDAY has been away but seems to be training forwardly enough on the farm, beat same kind here a year ago.

Eleventh Race

1. All Go 2. Diamond Mint 3. Sal's Jet

ALL GO, the days best, just missed with same kind returning locally last out, flashed big speed in recent dirt drill, and Saez stays. Sounds like a winning combo in finale. DIAMOND MINT outlasted preferred choice despite extended speed duel in their previous encounter, looks like one to beat in rematch. SAL'S JET broke slow, finished best of all behind top pair on 12/7, an obviously factor with a cleaner beginning.
