Five tie for fastest furlong at OBS fall mixed under-tack show


Five juveniles turned in the fastest one-furlong breeze of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. fall mixed sale under-tack show on Monday, covering the distance in 10 1/5 seconds.

The horses breezed over the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface.

They are:

• A Midshipman colt out of the unraced Ghostzapper mare Ghostly Fast. Consigned by Kim Harrison, agent, the colt is from the family of Grade 2 winner With a Wink, Grade 3 winner Raja’s Shark, and Grade 3-placed stakes winner Jena Jena.

• A Tiz Wonderful filly out of the winning Royal Academy mare Royal Sky, who is the dam of five winners from six foals to race. She is from the family of French classic winner Red Roses Story and English classic-placed Roses for the Star. Summerfield Sales, agent, consigns the filly.

• A Bernstein filly out of the unraced Lycius mare Shining Prospect, whose six winners from nine foals to race include Group 2 winner Duff and stakes producer Essential Fear. She is consigned by Jet Set Equine Sales, agent, and boasts an extended family that includes Italian classic winner Valley of Gold and English Group 3 winner Dublin.

• A Majesticperfection filly out of the stakes-placed Crafty Prospector mare Thealka. Consigned by Kim Harrison, agent, she is from the family of Grade 1 winner Navarone, U.A.E. Group 1 winner State City, and Grade 2 winner Moon Spirit.

• Prayers and Angels, a Midshipman colt out of the unraced Yes It’s True mare Truely Genuine, whose lone foal to race is a winner. TdM Sales, agent, consigns the colt, who is from the family of Grade 3-placed stakes winner Honey’s Answer as well as stakes winners Roana Gale and American County.

A juvenile filly by Concerto clocked the fastest two-furlong time of the session, completing her breeze in 20 2/5 seconds. The filly, consigned by Ocala Stud, is out of the stakes-placed Montbrook mare Siren Cove, who is the dam of 2014 stakes winner Puntrooskie.

A pair of 2-year-olds led the session at three furlongs, each stopping the clock in 32 3/5 seconds.

Greg Rules Da is a colt by Da Stoops, out of the unraced King of Kings mare Hines Farley Rules, who is the dam of four winners from as many foals to race. Grade 2 winner Dice Flavor is a member of the colt’s extended family, as are Grade 3 winners Shrike, Storm on the Loose, and Swift Warrior. Jet Set Equine Sales, agent, consigns the colt.

Also tying for the fastest three-furlong time was a Medaglia d’Oro filly out of the winning Giant’s Causeway mare Seeknfind, whose two foals to race are winners. Consigned by Gayle Woods, agent, the filly is from the family of Group 1 winner and Seeking the Pearl and Group 2 winner Seeking the Dia.

The OBS fall mixed sale begins Tuesday, Oct. 14 with a consignor-preferred session, then concludes on Wednesday, Oct. 15 with an open session immediately followed by a horses of racing age portion. Sessions begin each day at 10:30 a.m. Eastern.
