A Smart Strike filly sold for a sale-record $1.25 million to agent Ben McElroy to set the bar high in the early going of the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-year-olds in training sale's first session Monday in Timonium, Md. The filly was consigned by Eddie Woods, as agent. She breezed a furlong in 10 2/5 seconds during Fasig-Tipton's presale under-tack show. The filly is out of the stakes-winning A.P. Indy mare Crystal Current, dam of two winners from three starters, including stakes-placed Mi Vida. Out of multiple Grade 1 winner Dream Supreme, Crystal Current is a full sister to Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes winner Majestic Warrior, who went on to sire 2013 Kentucky Oaks winner Princess of Sylmar early in his stud career. Dream Supreme, herself out of Grade 1 winner Spinning Round, has also produced stakes winner Evolutionist and stakes producer A. P. Dream.
