Fasig-Tipton Florida: Seven tie for fastest furlong at breeze show


A septet of juveniles each breezed a furlong in 9 4/5 seconds on Friday to top the Fasig-Tipton Florida select 2-year-olds in training sale breeze show at Adena Springs South in Williston, Fla.

The sale is set for Monday, March 24 at Adena Springs South, beginning at noon, Eastern.

Following are the seven horses who tied for the fastest one-furlong breeze of the day.

► A half-brother to three-time champion Royal Delta, by Distorted Humor. Bred in Kentucky by Adena Springs, he is out of the multiple Grade 3-winning A.P. Indy mare Delta Princess, whose four winners from five foals to race also includes Grade 1-placed Carnival Court and Grade 2-placed Empire Way. His family also includes Grade/Group 1 winner Biondetti, and Indy Five Hundred, Grade 2 winner Lyphard’s Delta, and Grade 3 winner Proud Debonair. Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds bought the colt for $350,000 at last year’s Fasig-Tipton Saratoga selected yearling sale and consigns him as agent.

► A Super Saver colt out of the winning Sky Mesa mare Rateeba, whose first foal is a placed runner. Bred in Kentucky by Dixiana Farms, the colt’s notable family members include Grade 2 winners She’s Tops and Zavata. He was a $65,000 purchase at the 2013 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky fall yearling sale, and is consigned as agent by Eddie Woods.

► A Macho Uno filly out of the winning Dixie Union mare Rumari, whose first foal to race is a winner. The gray or roan filly, bred in Kentucky by T/C Stable, is from the family of multiple Grade 3 winner Naskra’s Return. Consigned by Wavertree Stables, agent, the colt brought $57,000 at last year’s Keeneland September yearling sale.

► A colt by Desert Party, out of the winning Olympio mare Satinet. The mare is a producer of eight winners from 10 foals to race, including Grade 1-placed Social Probation, multiple stakes winners Britt’s Jules and Probation Ready, and stakes placed Dirty Rush. Bred in Kentucky by Chris and Kirt Cahill, the colt’s page also includes Grade 1 winners Rose’s Cantina and Fancy Naskra. He was a $180,000 purchase at last year’s Keeneland September sale, and is consigned at the Florida sale by Eddie Woods, agent.

► A Smart Strike filly out of the multiple stakes-placed American Chance mare Clay’s Rocket, whose three winners from four foals to race include stakes winners Laurie’s Rocket and Greeley’s Rocket. Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings bred the filly in Kentucky, with notable family members including Grade 1 winner Adieu and Grade 3 winner Rapport. Consigned as agent by Wavertree Stables, the filly was secured for $775,000 at last year’s Keeneland September sale.

► A Congrats colt out of the winning Forestry mare First At Summer, who has one winner from one foal to race. Bred in Kentucky by Shortleaf Stable, the colt’s extended family includes Grade 2 winner Fair Judgment and Grade 3 winner Ailalea. He sold for $75,000 at the 2013 Keeneland September sale, and he is consigned by Tip Line Sales, agent.

► A Majesticperfection colt out of the unraced Indian Charlie mare Ms. Cornstalk, making him a half-sibling to 2010 Canadian Horse of the Year Biofuel and Canadian champion Tu Endie Wei. Bred in Kentucky by Brereton Jones, his page also includes champion Xtra Heat Grade 2 winner Dansil. He was purchased for $285,000 at last year’s Keeneland September sale, and is consigned as agent by Wavertree Stables.

Super Saver, Desert Party, and Majesticperfection are represented by their first 2-year-olds this season.
