A minority ownership interest has been sold in Ive Struck a Nerve by Matt Bryant, the principal in Big Chief Racing, with Paul Braverman as his new partner. Braverman, 62, is a Boston investment manager who has owned horses in various partnerships for years and was one of the minority owners in Soldat, winner of the 2011 Fountain of Youth Stakes.
Ive Struck a Nerve won the Feb. 23 Risen Star Stakes at 135-1 and will make his next start in the March 30 Louisiana Derby. Keith Desormeaux will remain the trainer of Ive Struck a Nerve, who is all but assured of a spot in the May 4 Kentucky Derby through the new point system for eligibility. Desormeaux has planned workouts for each of the next three Saturdays for the colt.
Ive Struck a Nerve closed at 50-1 as a separate wagering interest last weekend in the Kentucky Derby Future Wager.

Should have sold the majority since the horse ran the biggest he ever will this year.

LORD CHELSIE has been away since February but he has speed and the rail, and given the general lack of pace in this opener he should be able to take advantage of this pace advantage, as long as he breaks alertly and outruns OMINOUS THOMAS for the lead; past success over this strip adds to the appeal. OMINOUS THOMAS failed to make the lead in a shorter race that was loaded with speed last time; back at six furlongs today, and this is a much better race flow for him.
