SPOT PLAYS AND LIVE LONGSHOTS Del Mar Race 6, (6:40 ET) - SPOT PLAY 6:40 Dmr 6th BARDSTOWN (#6, 3-1) Juvenile ridgling has been putting on quite a show in the Dmr mornings, as he’s earned several bullets since shipping in from New York for Hess. Attracts Bejarano for his debut, which is always noteworthy, and further good news is the plethora of veritable “good things” in this full field should allow all of them to be decent value on the tote, including this one. – Marty McGee   Del Mar Race 7, (7:10 ET) - LIVE LONGSHOT HANDSOME MIKE (#7, 15-1) HANDSOME MIKE's only all-weather sprint produced a GSW last fall at KEE. He'll get a good setup in the Pat O'Brien, and the barn has been rolling since slow start to meet. - Marcus Hersh Del Mar Race 7, (7:10 ET) HANDSOME MIKE (#7, 15-1) ran maybe the best race of his life in circumstances just like this – 7fs on Polytrack – when he won the Grade 3 Commonwealth. He then caught slop in a Grade 2 at CD and was overmatched in the Grade 1 Met Mile. He’s been freshened and again finds a situation at which he’s proven. And those last 2 dull outings help buoy your price.-Michael Hammersly Del Mar Race 9, (8:10 ET) KETTLE CORN (#7, 6-1) may actually be better than ever now that Sadler added blinkers 2 back. He scared Game on Dude in the Grade 1 Hollywood Gold Cup and then finished relentlessly to beat top-class Paynter in the Grade 2 San Diego here. He’s in great form, loves it here and may get an ideal set-up with ample speed to ensure a strong pace and maybe also take a bit of the starch out of favorite Game on Dude. -Michael Hammersly   Del Mar Race 9, (8:10 ET) - LIVE LONGSHOT ENDORSEMENT (#1, 20-1) ENDORSEMENT is 2nd-time Lasix & 2nd after layoff with strong works plus mile-and-a-quarter pedigree. Whether he leads or takes back slightly, he can get into Pacific Classic exotics at 30-1. - Marcus Hersh Del Mar Race 11, (9:10 ET) - VULNERABLE FAVORITE VOLKONSKY (#5, 5-2) surely figures to bust through one of these days and get that elusive diploma as he’s run well in all 4 starts. However, he’s already burned some money and while he’s run well in his 3 turf starts (2 2nds, 1 3rd) it’s not like he’s been a factor in the final furlong (beaten 2 3/4, 6 3/4 and 3 1/2 lengths).-Michael Hammersly
