Churchill Downs: Baze memorial set for Friday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - A memorial tribute honoring Michael Baze has been scheduled for between races Friday at Churchill Downs, where the 24-year-old jockey was found dead in his vehicle Tuesday afternoon. The brief service is scheduled for after the fourth race at about 4:30 p.m. Eastern.

An autopsy performed Wednesday proved inconclusive as to the cause of death. The Jefferson County (Ky.) coroner's office said results of toxicology tests will not be available for several weeks.

Baze hailed from the Seattle area, where a memorial service is tentatively planned for May 24 at Emerald Downs.
