Champion Trinniberg sires first foal

Trinniberg, the champion sprinter of 2012, was represented by his first foal Sunday night when Princesspatseattle delivered a filly at Rockridge Stud in Hudson, N.Y.

The filly is the second foal out of Princesspatseattle, an unraced Airdrie Apache mare. The mare’s first foal, the Bluegrass Cat colt Artic Storm Cat, is a registered white Thoroughbred.

Trinniberg stands at Rockridge Stud for an advertised fee of $7,500.

Trinniberg won 5 of 18 starts during his on-track career for earnings of $1,553,086, highlighted by the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Sprint, the Grade 2 Woody Stephens Stakes, and the Grade 3 Bay Shore and Swale stakes. All of those wins came in 2012, bolstering his résumé for that year’s champion sprinter Eclipse Award. He also finished in the money in four additional graded stakes, including a runner-up effort in the Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes.

Bred in Kentucky by J M Stables, Trinniberg is out of the stakes-placed Goldminers Gold mare Bella Dorato, who is the dam of three winners from four foals to race.
