Breeders’ Cup Mile contender and multiple Grade 1 winner Court Vision will retire after the Nov. 5 race and will enter stud at Michael Byrne’s Park Stud in Canada, as his owner, Spendthrift Farm ,looks to expand its brand northward.

Spendthrift will announced Court Vision’s stud fee later.

A 6-year-old Gulch horse, Court Vision has earned more than $2.6 million so far with 8 wins in 30 lifetime starts. His biggest victories to date have come in the 2010 Woodbine Mile Stakes and Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap, 2009 Shadwell Turf Mile, and 2008 Hollywood Derby, all Grade 1 races. But he has also won three other graded stakes: the Grade 2 Jamaica Handicap and Remsen Stakes and the Grade 3 Iroquois Stakes in 2007. He has also placed in seven more graded stakes, five of them Grade 1’s.

Court Vision is out of the unraced Storm Bird mare Weekend Storm, a full sister to Summer Squall and half-sister to A. P. Indy. He is a full brother to Hong Kong stakes-winner Garcia Marquez, and he is a half-brother to graded winner Smart Surprise, stakes-winner Lord Snowdon, and stakes-placed runners Hailstone, Weekend Strike, and City Weekend.
