Juddmonte – Khalid Abdullah

Prince Khalid Abdullah’s Juddmonte Farms has developed into a global superpower over the course of four decades, and he continued to compete at the very highest level in 2017 with Horse of the Year finalist Arrogate.

After a breakout campaign in 2016, Arrogate gathered no moss, winning the inaugural Pegasus World Cup, then traveling abroad to win the Dubai World Cup in the first few months of the year.

Arrogate finished his career as North America’s all-time leading earner with $17,422,600, and will enter stud at Juddmonte’s Lexington, Ky., farm in 2018.

Arrogate’s campaign helped propel Juddmonte to the top of the earnings list in 2017 among owners at $10,841,155. The Juddmonte colors were carried to 30 victories last year in 147 North American starts.

The operation tied with Godolphin for North America’s most graded stakes wins in 2017 (nine) and tied with Winchell Thoroughbreds-Three Chimneys Farm for most Grade 1 wins (four), and topped all owners in graded stakes earnings ($9,722,979).

While one horse grabbed the bulk of the headlines for Juddmonte in 2017, the operation was also represented by champion female sprinter finalist Paulassilverlining, Grade 1 winner Antonoe, Grade 2 winner Projected, and Grade 3 winners Suffused and Grade Jete.

Juddmonte Farms earned its third Eclipse Award as outstanding owner in 2016, having previously been honored in 1992 and 2003. The operation has been a finalist for the award eight times since 2000.

The farm is also a five-time Eclipse Award winner as outstanding breeder, earning trophies in 1995, 2001-03 and 2009.
