The fans support this sport. Why not let us vote for our heros.Baseball lets the fans vote for the all star players. The writers have to kiss up to owners the fans do not.Stop making us feel like we are taken for granted.

Midwest Thoroughbreds nominated for Owner of the Year? Seriously? Where would they be without the Untouchable Ness making it happen? How do you nominate one but not the other? The skeptics dishonor Ness' character because of his high winning %...while his owners are heralded as among the elite in the industry?... Doesn't make sense.

How can Chad Brown be left off ballot as trainer of the year? He, by far , is the third best trainer for last year. Graded stakes wins? He's 3rd. Money won? He's 3rd, win percentage? He's 2nd. And it goes on and on with his stats.maybe it's because he's 35 years old, in an old Manx sport.

First thing that comes to mind is he can't win on the dirt. How many graded wins have you seen him win on dirt?that's what US racing is all about. End of discussion

mott should be trainer of the year..
Maya Joffe More than 1 year ago
Were Game on Dude's flops so bad that he is no longer a finalist for HOTY?
Shawn Britton More than 1 year ago
Beat low level horses. Easy to leave off. Mucho hammered him every time he faces him

Oh, OK.

Yet he left Ron the Greek in the dust in the Big 'Cap, the same Ron the Greek who aired in the pseudo-JC Gold Cup. And losing by a half-head or so to a 3yo at wfa in the Clark isn't a 'flop'. That same 3yo was right there at the end of the BC Classic, after all.

Ken Ramsey has had a year that others dream of.He was the leading owner of at least 4 major tracks. He is the real deal and a true race track guy.He bets and will not hide it.This guy would be at the track if he was not the owner of the year.Hope he and all his Kittings stay well.He and his wife and family are a credit to this game.

I am sure this is a result of excellent planning he has a plan of attack for each meet tries to keep a the same team racetracks love him he invests heavily in the claiming process which be nene fits all. The man us a credit to the game plus it helps to have the top SIRE

Kell More than 1 year ago
because more than half of them are on the crappy west coast..i can't wait till the breeders cup moves out of there ,,,it is not the least bit interesting to watch it from there i can deal 1 year but going on 3 in a row..i wanna puke
Susan Huart More than 1 year ago
That's not really an answer.

East coast crybaby Who wants a sloppy nasty weather championship.Hopefully they make it fulltime at santa anita .

Am I the only person wondering why MR. D. Wayne Lucas isn't in trainer of the year. I thought he was the lock as a matter of fact. I am a west coast guy. Hes a mid west to east coast guy; and every time he came out west this year he left with big money. I don't know who he would replace but for me Mr. Lucas topped those guys there with what he put on the track. And he traveled his horses for big money purses more and future than those guys.
Susan Huart More than 1 year ago
I read that D Wayne was a contender. Go figure !
Patricia Doyle More than 1 year ago
i would put him (lukas) ahead of bill mott, well just by a nose.
Philip C More than 1 year ago
I wonder why Chad Brown wasn't a contender too
Kell More than 1 year ago
d wayne should be electrician of the year
Matthew Sanchez More than 1 year ago
I'm saying the same thing!!! I'm pissed he's not even considered.... I loved oxbow, will take charge and optimizer all year and bet them every start no matter what!!!! Shame on this fixed racing industry...
