Have to go with I'll Have Another. He has good, tactical speed but will not have generous odds this time around. Except for the Hopeful, run in the slop, this horse has gotten better with every start. Excellent ride in the large Derby field too so the jock seems to know this horse.

6-5-9-8-7. If Shoemaker or Cordero or Bailey at the height of their abilities were on Union Rags in the Derby, the horse would have found trouble. If Dullahan did not cause him to pinch back, someone else would have. Leparoux did the horse no favors at all, and is rightfully criticized, but the horse was not going to win the race.

So you just make out the tickets in the order of the ML odds? Then the 2 would be your choice in the Hi-5. Just remember to drink plenty of water with all that chalk you'll be ingesting.

All nice wins, but the Derby is in a different league. His Derby ride was awful. Not fair to judge him based on one ride, but tell that to Donovan McNabb or any other athlete who has a resume of accomplishments but came up small on the biggest stage.

Nice list of wins! But any jockey that rode that race including johnstone could fill a list like that. So he has some wins why not he rides 8 races a day. He might get it one day but right now he's in a gunk and if you don't realize thus than make some more list while your at it. According to most people he had the horse to win the derby and he got him beat.

Out of the top 20 most prestigious races in America today, he's won one, namely the Santa Anita Handicap. 1 for 20, a random odd in the 20-horse Kentucky Derby. Just not a good bet at 6-1 in the Derby. But the Preakness at 15-1? May be worth an insurance bet.
