Sweet Azteca will not race again until the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint following her win in the Rancho Bernardo at Del Mar. Sweet Azteca was the first stakes winner of the meet for Richard Baltas, who has runners in two Grade 1s on Saturday.
A juvenile hasn't won the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes in almost two decades, and an American horse, at least in modern history, never has won the Nunthorpe. Both options are in play when 18 horses take to the York Racecourse turf on Friday.
