Calder: Fast 2-year-old

Hello Prince outran his works, leading throughout to capture his debut in the seventh race for trainer Daniel Pita. Hello Prince struggled to shade :52 for a half mile in his last gate work but had no trouble sprinting clear and withstanding the unlucky and well backed Boltzapper to win the maiden special weight dash. The runner-up may have been best with a more experienced pilot on his back. Bet to 5-2 for his unveiling despite the fact his inexperienced rider Alexa Boulanger  has yet to win a race, Boltzapper forced the pace while racing wide, bore out a bit into the stretch then lugged in badly while attempting to cut into the winner's lead albeit to no avail. Had he kept a straight path he might have given the winner a run for his money. The 52.4 clocking for 4.5 furlongs was the fastest for any 2-year-old here this spring.
