Arlington: More synthetic power from Unusual Heat

It's not just California where we see the all-weather racing prowess of offspring by Unusual Heat. Stark Ravin Mad, an Unusual Heat first-timer, just romped to victory in long-delayed race 2 on Sunday at Arlington. Larry Rivelli trains the 2-year-old, who was ridden to victory by E.T. Baird. I was looking for a third-start breakthrough from favored Curfew Tower. Apparently, he's just not that good, barely holding second while no match for pace-setting Stark Ravin Mad, leading trainer Rivelli's 13th win of the young meet.

Lets keep an eye on speed horses the next couple races. Stark Ravin Mad led all the way on a Polytrack that has just taken a lot of rain and may be promoting speed.
