Avatar, 1975, 13-1 odds. Avatar was a successful horse entering the Triple Crown season and finished second in the Derby and a strong fifth in the Preakness. His endurance proved most valuable in the longest leg of the Crown when he barely edged out Derby winner Foolish Pleasure by a narrowing neck in the 1975 Belmont.
