Taylor Made Stallions sets 2017 fees

Taylor Made Stallions in Nicholasville, Ky., released the advertised fees for its 2017 stallion roster, including Grade 1 winner Mshawish, who will stand his first season for $20,000.

California Chrome, the 2014 Horse of the Year and probable favorite for the Breeders’ Cup Classic, will have his debut stud fee determined and announced following the race.

“These are very exciting times at Taylor Made Stallions,” said Ben Taylor, the farm’s vice president. “We could not be happier to have the opportunity to grow our stallion roster with the likes of two new multiple Grade 1 winners of the caliber of Mshawish and California Chrome. Our entire staff is energized and ready to get to work in serving the breeders this upcoming breeding season.”

Grade 1 winner Graydar is the only returning stallion on the Taylor Made roster to see a shift in his fee from 2016, standing the upcoming season for $12,500 after previously being advertised at $15,000. The son of Unbridled’s Song’s first foals are 2-year-olds of 2017.

The farm will offer discounts on multiple mares bred to one or more of its stallions in 2017.

Graydar – $12,500
Mshawish – $20,000
