Ballena Vista Farm sets 2016 fees

Ballena Vista Farm in Ramona, Calif., has revealed the advertised fees for its 2016 stallion roster, led by Bluegrass Cat, who will stand his second season in the Golden State after relocating from New York.

Bluegrass Cat, a 12-year-old son of Storm Cat, will stand for a special pre-season fee of $6,500, keeping him steady with his 2015 rate.

"With 2015 leading sire Bluegrass Cat's 2016 special pre-season fee, he represents a 'best value' for the upcoming 2016 season," said Ballena Vista farm manager Manuel Ochoa. “Ballena Vista Farm offers breeders both proven leading sires and outstanding prospects priced at value to the breeder. We are excited to offer this complete roster and welcome breeders to statistically and physically examine our stallions. We feel they will be impressed.”

Dixie Chatter, a 10-year-old son of Dixie Union, will stand for $3,000 after standing the previous season for $4,000. Eddington’s fee will remain unchanged at $3,500, while Calimonco will remain the same at $1,500.
