HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. -   Dynamic Holiday stretched her winning streak to four and did so impressively on Sunday, rallying from off the pace to a decisive two-length victory over Mystical Star in the Grade 3, $150,000 Herecomesthebrideat Gulfstream Park.

The Herecomesthebride was the third stakes win this season over as many tracks for Dynamic Holiday, a 3-year-old daughter of Harlan’s Holiday who earlier this winter won Calder’s Tropical Park Oaks and the Florida Oaks at Tampa Bay Downs.

Aqueduct: Eminent Tale salvages the day for odds-on stakes favorites

Odds-on favorites went 1 for 2 in a pair of overnight stakes Sunday at Aqueduct, with 2-5 favorite Eminent Tale cruising to an easy-as-he-pleased 5 3/4-length victory in the Sweet Envoy Stakes while Buster’s Ready, a 1-2 fave in a field of four, could do no better than finish third to stablemate R Holiday Mood in the Out Ruled Stakes.

Bay Shore prospect Fort Hughes euthanized after breaking down during workout

The 3-year-old sprinter Fort Hughes, winner of the Jimmy Winkfield Stakes at Aqueduct in January, sustained fatal injuries during a workout at Belmont Park.

Fort Hughes, the promising 3-year-old sprinter who won the Jimmy Winkfield Stakes at Aqueduct by 4 3/4 lengths, broke down during a workout Sunday morning at Belmont Park and had to be euthanized, according to trainer Kiaran McLaughlin.

McLaughlin, who was in Florida, said his New York-based assistant Art Magnuson told him Fort Hughes had gone his first quarter in 24.40 seconds and was turning into the stretch of the training track when he went down, unseating exercise rider Marsha Barrs, who was reported to have been okay.

Spring Party barely held off the stretch run of favored La Gran Bailadora on Saturday night to give her connections their second straight victory in the $50,000 Wintergreen Stakes at Turfway Park.

With Ben Creed aboard for owner Jerry Jamgotchian and trainer Eric Reed, Spring Party prevailed by a head, finishing the one-mile distance in 1:39.99 over Polytrack. The same team won the 2010 Wintergreen with Rinterval.

ARCADIA, Calif. – Premier Pegasus took a seemingly wide-open San Felipe Stakes and turned it into a tour de force on Saturday at Santa Anita, romping to a 7 3/4-length victory in the Grade 2, $250,000 race that serves as the final major prep for next month’s Santa Anita Derby.

Ninety-year-old Santa Anita paddock guard injured in accident

ARCADIA, Calif. - John Shear, a popular paddock guard at Santa Anita who recently celebrated his 90th birthday, was taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital in nearby Pasadena after a freak incident in the paddock before the third race in which Shear protected a small girl who was in danger of being trampled by a loose horse.

Shear, known as “Little John,” was reported by track officials to be conscious, responsive, and moving when attended by on-site first aid. He was taken to the hospital for further evaluation.

Sunland: Winter Camp connects at 23-1 in Bill Thomas Memorial

Winter Camp went wire to wire to upset the $50,000 Bill Thomas Memorial at 23-1 on Saturday at Sunland Park. He won by a head over Stephengothisstar, while it was another half-length back in third to Tactful.

Winter Camp ($49.60) led the field through a half-mile in 43.69 seconds and proceeded to cover the six and a half furlongs on a fast track in 1:15.04. Agapito Delgadillo rode the winner for Pacifica West Stables and trainer Jon Arnett.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark.- It Happened Again has been unbeatable this meet at Oaklawn, as he picked up his third straight win of the season Saturday in the Grade 3, $125,000 Razorback Handicap.

He held off Thiskyhasnolimit by a half-length, while it was another 1 1/4 lengths back in third to Win Willy. The race served as the prep for the Grade 2, $500,000 Oaklawn Handicap on April 9.
