Laurel: Walkwithapurpose simply looks best in Caesar's Wish

Jim McCue/Maryland Jockey Club
If Walkwithapurpose repeats her effort in the Wide Country (above), she will be extremely hard to beat in the Caesar's Wish on Saturday.

Even a nitpicker would have difficulty finding anything negative to say about Walkwithapurpose, the 3-year-old filly whose credentials stand out in Saturday’s $100,000 Caesar’s Wish Stakes at Laurel Park.

A Sagamore Farm homebred daughter of the Argentine horse Candy Ride, Walkwithapurpose owns a 4-for-4 record at Laurel, including dominating stakes victories in the Maryland Juvenile Championship and the Wide Country.

Turfway Park: Unbeaten Admiral Kitten is slight favorite in Battaglia

Coady Photography
Admiral Kitten has closed from near the back of the pack to win both of his starts.

No, there aren’t any Kentucky Derby points available Saturday in the $75,000 John Battaglia Memorial Stakes over the Polytrack surface at Turfway Park. But for some folks working backward from the May 4 Derby – such as Ken Ramsey – it seems like an ideal place to get in some useful practice for Polytrack races with points.
