SYDNEY - For a gelding who has won seven of nine starts, there seems to be room for improvement from Briasa, who will start favored in the Group 1 All Aged Stakes at Royal Randwick Racecourse on Friday night.
A 4-year-old in the Southern Hemisphere, Briasa had a breakthrough win at the Group 1 level in the $1.88 million T.J. Smith Stakes at six furlongs at Randwick on April 5, closing from fourth of 14 to win by a head.
SYDNEY – Moira, the Eclipse Award winner as the champion turf female of 2024, has been turned out after finishing 14th in her Australian debut in the Group 1 Doncaster Mile at Royal Randwick Racecourse on April 5, trainer Chris Waller said last weekend.
“She just needs time to adapt,” Waller said. “She’ll be better when she’s gotten into our seasons.”
