Adena Springs releases 2015 Kentucky stud fees

Adena Springs in Paris, Ky. has released the advertised 2015 stud fees for its nine-horse stallion roster.

The group will once again be led by Awesome Again, a 20-year-old Deputy Minister horse, who will stand for $75,000, the same fee he commanded in 2014.

Close behind will be Hall of Famer Ghostzapper, who will stand for an advertised fee of $60,000. The 14-year-old son of Awesome Again was advertised at $50,000 during the previous breeding season.

Big Brown relocating to New York

Champion Big Brown, winner of the 2008 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, will relocate to New York for stud duty in 2015, standing for a fee of $8,500.

A majority interest in Big Brown has been acquired by Andrew Cohen’s Sunrise Stables and Gary Tolchin’s Golden Goose Enterprises. The 9-year-old Boundary horse previously stood at Three Chimneys Farm in Midway, Ky., and he also shuttles to Vinery Australia for Southern Hemisphere breeding. His New York location will be announced in the near future, according to a release from Sunrise Stables.

Street Hero relocates to Rancho San Miguel in California

Grade 1 winner Street Hero will stand the 2015 breeding season at Rancho San Miguel in San Miguel, Calif.

The 8-year-old son of Street Cry previously stood at WinStar Farm in Versailles, Ky. His 2015 fee will be announced later.

Street Hero won once from six starts at 2 with two seconds and three thirds, racing in California for owner, breeder, and trainer Myung Kwon Cho. His win came in the Grade 1 Norfolk Stakes at Santa Anita, and he subsequently finished third in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at the same track in his final start. He earned $419,360.

Lane’s End releases 2015 stud fees

Lane’s End Farm in Versailles, Ky., has released the advertised 2015 stud fees for its 15-horse stallion roster.

Leading the group will be Smart Strike, a 22-year-old son of Mr. Prospector, whose fee will remain unchanged at $100,000.

The next-highest 2015 fee will belong to Candy Ride, who will stand for $60,000 next year, up from his advertised mark of $35,000 in 2014. Progeny by the 15-year-old Ride the Rails horse were led on the track this year by champion Shared Belief.

Juddmonte Farms announces European 2015 stud fees

Juddmonte Farms has released the advertised fees for its 2015 stallion roster in Newmarket, England, led once again by the undefeated Frankel.

Entering his third season at stud, Frankel’s fee will remain unchanged at $199,913 (125,000 pounds). The first foals  by the 6-year-old son of Galileo arrived in 2014.

Also standing for a six-figure fee will be Dansili, an 18-year-old son of Danehill, whose fee rises to $159,961 (100,000 pounds) after commanding 95,000 pounds last year.

Ice Box relocates to Millennium Farms

Grade 1 winner Ice Box will relocate to Millennium Farms in Lexington, Ky., for the 2015 breeding season.

The 7-year-old son of Pulpit previously stood at Three Chimneys Farm in Midway, Ky., where he was advertised for a fee of $7,500 in 2014. A fee has not been announced for 2015.

On the racetrack, Ice Box won 3 of 16 career starts for earnings of $948,068, highlighted by a win in the Grade 1 Florida Derby and a runner-up finish in the 2010 Kentucky Derby. His first foals are yearlings of 2014.

Juddmonte Farms announces 2015 Kentucky stud fees

Juddmonte Farms has announced 2015 stud fees for its two-horse roster standing at its U.S. division in Lexington, Ky.

Mizzen Mast will stand for an increased fee of $25,000 during the upcoming breeding season, up from $20,000 in 2014. Leading runners this year by the 16-year-old son of Cozzene include undefeated French Group 1-winning juvenile Full Mast and Grade 2 winners Filimbi and Stonetastic.

Honorable Dillon to stand at Rockridge Farm in New York

Grade 2 winner Honorable Dillon has been retired from racing and will stand at Rockridge Farm in Hudson, N.Y., in 2015 for an advertised fee of $5,000.

The 4-year-old son of Tapit finishes his on-track career with 3 wins in 15 career starts for earnings of $233,649, highlighted by a win in the Grade 2 Hutcheson Stakes.

Tapit to stand for $300,000 in 2015

Gainesway stallion Tapit, who recently broke the single-year record for North American progeny earnings, will stand for an advertised fee of $300,000 during the 2015 breeding season.

The 13-year-old son of Pulpit is the first North American stallion to stand for that amount since 2008, when Storm Cat, A.P. Indy, and Distorted Humor each commanded that fee. The pensioned Kingmambo also stood for $300,000 within the past decade.

Kitten's Joy continues at $100,000 for 2015

Leading sire Kitten’s Joy will stand for an unchanged fee of $100,000 in 2015, Ramsey Farm of Nicholasville, Ky., announced on Saturday.

Ramsey Farm will also stand Real Solution, a Grade 1-winning son of Kitten’s Joy, who retires to stud alongside his sire for an advertised fee of $12,500.
