Aqueduct | Race 7 | Post Time 4:26 p.m. (ET)
IRISH PATSY
Trainer: Michael McCarthy
Last race: Feb. 10, 1st
Finish: 3rd by 1/2
Beyer: 78
Slow fractions compromised late-running favorite in N1X turf mile. She lagged as usual, finished fastest of all, but race was dominated by one-two pacesetters. Good try by ’Patsy.
RACE 7: DREAM CONCERT is turning back to a distance over which she’s 3 for 4 off a close second in a stakes and should be prominent in the third start of her form cycle. BAZINGA C was fourth among four next-out winners the last time she saw action in the fall at Parx Racing and has since changed trainers to Saffie Joseph Jr., who excels with new acquisitions. DREAMING OF SNOW found a one-turn mile in a Gulfstream stakes too far last out and has been working fast at Tampa for the cutback to a more suitable distance.
GP RACE 9: Spreading out in this competitive turf dash in which COPPOLA could be the dominant front-runner. He had a wide trip after an uncharacteristically slow beginning in his only dull recent performance in a Grade 2 stakes at Keeneland. CAROTARI was a chalky second in his comeback, and the 10-time winner is looking to end a drought with Irad Ortiz Jr. back aboard. PANTHER ISLAND has won two in a row, including a stakes, and is versatile in terms of running style. HEAVEN STREET is back on his preferred surface.
In coast-to-coast stakes handicapping Saturday, one finds oneself bouncing between the sparse and the inscrutable. If fields aren’t short, they’re riddled with difficult questions. Maybe we have some answers.

NAUVOO
Trainer: Kristin Mulhall
Last race: Feb. 2, 2nd
Finish: 1st by 11 1/2
Beyer: 94
Claiming front-runner looks like a timely $12,500 claim by Mulhall from Librado Baricio. Sped to lead in mile race, extended margin, and crushed. Can handle class hike, prefers dirt route.
