Tracy Ann's Legacy returns to favorite turf course

Tom Keyser
The featured race Friday at Tampa Bay Downs is a $25,500 second-level turf race at 1 1/16 miles.

Joe Orseno acknowledges the 7-year-old mare Tracy Ann’s Legacy may be a step slower at this stage of her career, but he’s hoping a brief freshening and a return to her favorite surface can bring her back to form in Wednesday’s second-level allowance/optional $32,000 claiming event scheduled for five furlongs over the Tampa Bay Downs turf.

Tracy Ann’s Legacy, a 7-year-old daughter of Shackleford, has four wins and two seconds sprinting on turf at Tampa.

Barbara D. Livingston
Jockey Luis Saez gives Dornoch a pat after his win in the Grade 2 Remsen at Aqueduct.

The stock of the relatively young broodmare Puca continues to skyrocket, as Dornoch, a full brother to her Kentucky Derby winner Mage, became a graded stakes winner with his game victory in the Grade 2 Remsen Stakes on Saturday at Aqueduct.

The first three foals out of Puca, a stakes-winning daughter of Big Brown, are all stakes horses – a powerhouse start to the broodmare career of the mare who, at age 11, likely has many years of production ahead of her.
