Resorts World Bet Closing New York Sportsbook

Resorts World Bet will soon be out of the New York online sports betting market after the company announced its plans to withdraw at the end of June.

The Genting Group-owned sportsbook was one of the original nine sportsbooks that launched when the New York online sports betting market opened in January 2022.

Despite its tenure, the platform failed to attract an audience against stiff competition in the nation’s most competitive market.

Alex Cruz will ride Rich Gold for his wife, trainer Jaymie Pearman Cruz, in the first race at Emerald Downs on Friday.

While her husband, Alex Cruz, is among the most prolific jockeys at Emerald Downs, Jaymie Pearman Cruz’s training career has been more about quality than quantity. The 24-year-old British Columbia native has saddled 20 winners in 82 starts dating back to 2022, cutting her teeth at Hastings in the province of her birth but now settled with small stateside strings at Emerald and Turf Paradise.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Sovereignty took control of the 3-year-old division with his authoritative victory in the Belmont Stakes last Saturday at Saratoga and it’s fair to wonder which horses and how many will be game to take him on during the summer stakes at Saratoga.

The top three finishers from the Kentucky Derby finished in the same order in the Belmont. In the Kentucky Derby, Sovereignty beat Journalism by 1 1/2 lengths with Baeza a neck back in third.
