Arch Hall best in Eclipse

Arch Hall wins Monday's Grade 3, $150,400 Eclipse Stakes at Woodbine.

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Arch Hall ($6.80) prevailed over the 6-5 favorite, Kentucky shipper Alumni Hall, in Monday's Grade 3, $150,400 Eclipse Stakes at Woodbine.

Arch Hall raced about four lengths off a slow pace in the mile and sixteenth event for older runners. He made a four-wide bid on the far turn and hit the front at the quarter pole, before drawing off for a two and three-quarter-length victory. The final time was 1:44.10 seconds.

Diamond Dollars takes Federal Way Handicap

AUBURN, Wash. - Diamond Dollars went to the front at the start and widened thereafter to win Sunday's $40,000 Federal Way Handicap at Emerald Downs by a resounding 10 lengths over The Case Queen, who finished a nose in front of Devons Smokin. Time for the 6 1/2 furlongs was a lively 1:15.60.

Pick six carryover at $616,240

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - There is a carryover of $616,240 for Wednesday's eight-race program at Hollywood Park after bettors failed to conquer the bet on Saturday and Sunday.

Take D' Tour wins Shuvee

In yet another exhibit of the power of early speed, Take D' Tour grabbed the lead at the start of Sunday's $147,000 at Belmont Park, and widened her margin through the stretch under Cornelio Velasquez to win the Grade 2 mile by 5 and one-half lengths over Balletto. Smuggler finished third, Grecian Lover was fourth, and 4-5 favorite Indian Vale finished last of five after chasing the winner and coming up empty in her first start at 4.

Stratham captures Will Rogers

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Stratham continued his domination of California's 3-year-old male turf division in Sunday's $100,000 at Hollywood Park.

The style of the victory was reminiscent of Stratham's win in the La Puente Stakes at Santa Anita last month - he closed on the rail through the stretch under jockey David Cohen to take the lead.

Trained by Tim Yakteen for Jerry Jamgotchian, Stratham ($16.20) was dismissed in the betting after being listed as the 5-2 morning-line favorite.

Nob Hill Deelite takes Arcadia

Bossier City, La. - Nob Hill Deelite stalked the early pace before taking command on the outside turning for home to capture Sunday's $50,000 Arcadia Stakes. Here Tiger helped set the early pace along the rail and held on for second with Carson Bay finishing third. Grant County crossed the wire in fourth before breaking down and Night Doc completed the order of finish in the six-furlong affair for 3-year-olds bred in Louisiana.

Northern Soldier best in Laz Barrera

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Northern Soldier remained unbeaten after three starts, winning his stakes debut in Saturday's $150,000 at Hollywood Park.

Ridden by Chance Rollins, Northern Soldier ($21.40) disputed the pace from the start, took the lead in early stretch and won by three-quarters of a length over Remembering Star.

Trained by Brian Koriner for a partnership, Northern Soldier ran seven furlongs in 1:22.46.

Woodbine cancels last seven races

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Woodbine cancelled the last seven races on its nine-race card on Sunday due to high winds, which were gusting from the north west at speeds as high as 50 miles per hour.

The Grade 3 Selene Stakes, a $250,000 event for 3-year-olds fillies, was rescheduled for Wednesday night.

Graziella upsets Tellike Stakes

Graziella successfully changed tactics Saturday night as she rallied from off the pace to win a three-horse photo finish in the $75,000 Tellike Stakes at Evangeline Downs. Space Cruise lodged a rally of her own to miss by a head and in turn was followed closely by Baby R in third. Risen Star reported home in fourth followed by pacesetter Rachelsarompin, 9-10 favorite Indigo Girl and Catalina Queen.

Sunriver right on time

Making his first start since a third-place finish behind Barbaro in the Florida Derby, Sunriver rallied four wide leaving the far turn and put in a stirring stretch run to nail 13-1 Lewis Michael in the final strides of Saturday's Grade 2, $200,000 . It was just over three lengths back to Strong Contender in third, and Hesanoldsalt was fourth in the field of nine 3-year-olds.
